To get started with this particular recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can have edamame mochi using 5 ingredients and 5 steps. Here is how you cook it.

The ingredients needed to make Edamame Mochi:
  1. Prepare 220 g Glutinous Rice Flour
  2. Prepare 1 cup (250 ml) Warm Water
  3. Take 1/4-1/2 teaspoon Salt
  4. Take 1/2 cup Edamame Beans *thawed if you use Frozen Edamame Beans
  5. Make ready Potato Starch Flour to prevent Mochi to stick to hands
Instructions to make Edamame Mochi:
  1. Mix Glutinous Rice Flour, Warn Water and Salt in a heat-proof bowl until smooth. Add Edamame Beans and mix to combined.
  2. Cover the bowl with a plate, heat in the microwave for 1 minute, stir well with a wet spatular, and heat 2 more minutes or until the mixture is cooked through. When the colour becomes slightly transparent (not white), it is cooked. - *Tips: As the mixture is very sticky, wet the spatular with warm water frequently and sprinkle some warm water over the mixture as you stir.
  3. Spread plenty of Potato Starch Flour on a large plate, using a wet spatular, take the thick and sticky ‘Mochi’ mixture onto the plate. Sprinkle extra Potato Starch Flour over the ‘Mochi’ as well. Set aside, because it is still too hot to handle.
  4. When Mochi is slightly cooled, divide into 12 portions, and remove excess Starch.
  5. Enjoy with your favourite sauce. Soy Sauce is good, but I like the mix of Soy Sauce & some Sugar.

Foods That Can Make You Happy

In general, people have been trained to believe that “comfort” foods are bad for the body and should be avoided. Sometimes, if the comfort food is a high sugar food or some other junk food, this is very true. Otherwise, comfort foods could be very nourishing and good for you. There are several foods that, when you consume them, may improve your mood. When you are feeling a little down and need an emotional pick-me-up, test out a couple of these.

Eggs, you might be amazed to discover, are wonderful at battling depression. You should make sure, however, that what you make includes the egg yolk. The egg yolk is the most important part of the egg in terms of helping you cheer up. Eggs, specifically the egg yolks, are full of B vitamins. B vitamins can be fantastic for lifting up your mood. This is because they help in bettering the function of your neural transmitters, the components of your brain that control your mood. Consume an egg and jolly up!

Make some trail mix of nuts or seeds. Almonds, cashews, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, etc are all good for elevating your mood. This is possible as these foods are high in magnesium which promotes your production of serotonin. Serotonin is called the “feel good” chemical and it tells your brain how you should be feeling day in and day out. The higher your levels of serotonin, the more pleasant you are going to feel. Nuts, along with improving your mood, can be a superb source of protein.

If you would like to fight depression, you should eat some cold water fish. Cold water fish including tuna, trout and wild salmon are chock full of DHA and omega-3s. These are two things that really help the grey matter in your brain work a lot better. It’s the truth: consuming tuna fish sandwiches can actually help you battle your depression.

Grains can be good for driving away a bad mood. Quinoa, millet, teff and barley are all actually great for helping boost your happiness levels. These grains can help you feel full for longer also, which is a mood improver. Feeling hungry can be terrible! The reason these grains are so wonderful for your mood is that they are easy to digest. You digest these foods faster than other foods which can help promote your blood sugar levels, which, in turn, helps make you feel better, mood wise.

Green tea is wonderful for moods. You were sure it had to be in here somewhere, right? Green tea is rich in an amino acid called L-theanine. Research has proven that this amino acid promotes the production of brain waves. This will improve your brain’s concentration while at the same calming the rest of your body. You likely already knew it is not difficult to become healthy when you consume green tea. Now you know that green tea helps you to lift your moods too!

You can see, you don’t need to eat junk food or foods that are terrible for you to feel better! Try a few of these instead!
